Increased focus on the criticality of the HR function within the Middle East is driving growth in the HR service providers segment, with recently surveyed companies stating that the top 4 challenges facing their company’s performance include Leadership Development and Pipeline, Creation of High Performance Culture, Talent Management and Talent Acquisition.   This increased focus on HR is further demonstrated by recent data indicating that throughout the GCC, the highest pay raises in 2010 were attributed to the HR function.

Over the next ten years, this focus is expected to increase significantly as the region’s high numbers of youth enter the workforce while aggressive nationalization targets, strong GDP growth and the existing gap between academic programs and practical skill sets continue.  Such trends have been identified by key international players across the HR services spectrum including recruiters, training companies, testing facilities and HR consultancies who have already established a strong presence in the region such as Mercer, Aon/Hewitt and Prometric.
