Dubai Technology & Media Free Zone Authority (DTMFZA) approves the establishment and registration of companies in Dubai Knowledge Village and regulates all related procedures and matters. Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority offers a choice of commercial license options:

A FZ-LLC is formed as a separate legal entity, with shareholders as individuals and/or entities. Each FZ-LLC is required to have at least one director.

Free Zone -LLC (Property Management Services)

A Free Zone Limited Liability Company with Property Management Services (PMS) Activity, which is the management of properties located in areas under the regulatory and administrative control of the Dubai Technology & Media Free Zone Authority and for properties that are owned or leased by the licensee.

Minimum Capital Requirements

FZ-LLCs incorporated in Dubai Knowledge Village are required to have minimum paid up capital of AED 50,000. Branch establishments (e.g., all universities and schools) have no minimum capital requirements.

Branch

A branch of a foreign or a UAE company is not a legal entity separate from its parent but is considered a place of business that forms a legally dependent part of the parent company and conducts all or some of the operations inherent in the parent’s business. No share capital is required.

Freelancer

The Freelancer Permit offers the ability to operate as a freelance professional i.e., as a sole practitioner that enables the individual to conduct business in their birth name as opposed to a brand name.
